Posted by admin on May 14, 2018 in Destination Tips, Santorini Greece, Travel and Leisure | Comments Off on Top Tourist Tips for Visiting Santorini, Greece

Santorini Greece

Santorini is one of the best islands in Greece and may be in the whole world. It is one of the best destinations if you want to spend a lovely vacation. The island with its white and blue houses are, stunning sea, blue skies and lovely weather is considered the dream place for the best vacation ever.
If you decided to spend time there, here are some tips to make your trip better.

1. Travel Times:
The Island is great during the whole year but the best time to travel to Santorini is during the hotter seasons. June, August, and September are the best seasons. April, May, and October are also great.
The prices are expensive at these months while the prices are lower at the cold months.

2. Ferries:
There are two main types of ferries that travel to this beautiful island; the fast one and the slow ones. The fast ones include Hellenic Seaways and SeaJets and they take approximately 6 hours to reach there while the slow ferries including Anek Lines and Blue Star reach the island after 10 hours.
Big slow ferries are more comfortable yet. They have foods, drinks, and cabins for accommodation. According to the reviews of the people who went there, Blue Star Ferries are on the top.

3. Transport inside The Island:
It so easy to move around inside Santorini and here are the options you have.
• You can hire a taxi to move around the island.
• The island has two car rental companies so you can rent a car and use it.
• Local buses are available too.
• Welcomepickups.com can provide you with a local driver to pick you once you arrive to Santorini. It is a very easy website and its reviews are great so consider using it if you want to make your visit easier.

4. Hiking from Fira to Oia:
Every travel guide online and everyone who went to Santorini will tell you that you have to hike from Fira to Oia. Well, what I am about to say is kind of disappointing but it is actually not a good place to hike. The roads are not perfect for hiking and taking the local bus from Fira to Oia sounds like a better thing to do.

5. Bakery at Fira:
Go to Fira Central if you want to have a lovely breakfast. You will find a lovely bakery that is open 24 hours and you can enjoy fresh air, nice breakfast, and a cup of coffee. The place does not have any tables or chairs so take your meal and go find a place where you can enjoy your food and coffee. You will find an amazing spot within minutes.

There are many restaurants that you can try there and they are all great ones.
Also, MacDonald’s is located near the bakery so you can have another meal if you decided to spend your day there and try a different place.

You will feel alive there so just go and enjoy your time there.
