New Orleans is one of the most unique cities in the United States. It’s so unique from other cities to the point where you can easily remember New Orleans because of its appearance. This city is also known for its classy jazz music. In fact, some often think about New Orleans whenever they hear some jazz music. The city is also known for its Cajun cuisine that’s very remarkable for many foodies who traveled here already. Not to mention that Mardi Gras events here are also worth visiting.

 

New Orleans is located at Louisiana; it is the port city of the state a well. The city is located along the Mississippi River that borders the city’s French Quarter to the south. The city tends to welcome visitors on the area of the river as they can take carriages drawn by horses for a romantic way to travel the city’s best locations. The shore also has steamboats that you may want to ride on for a breezy trip on the waters of New Orleans.

 

New Orleans is definitely a place that’s rich in various cultures that made the architecture of the city classier than any other areas in the United States. For the best reason to travel here, you should check out the following tourist hotspots (some of which may be familiar due to its immense popularity):

French Quarter

The French Quarter is the best attraction in the city as it’s completely different from the usual concrete jungle of the American cities. The locals even treat this as the heart of the city. It is set at a bend of the Mississippi River. It contains rich architecture that will surely keep you walking around the French Quarter without getting bored. Some of the buildings here are remarkable as other were built 300 years ago and are still standing today. There are lots of good restaurants in this area.

 

National WWII Museum

If you’re interested in some history, then you will surely like to check out a lot about the American side of World War in the city’s very own National WWII Museum.

 

The museum contains a lot of exhibits about the war – which shows a lot of the weaponry and vehicles used during the battles of the war. There are also planes hanging at the ceiling of the museum as well. There are also documentaries scattered around the museum in the form of snippets for you to learn more ab out the historical war.

 

The museum is also divided into three areas: one section is for the Pacific war, the other one is for the war that occurred in Europe, and the last one houses various aircraft used in WWII. They also have a 4D theater which portrays the war in black-and-white style. What made the place even more enjoyable is that the staff will assign you a profile of someone who joined the war along with updates about their progression through the war for you to personally know them. You can also dine in their Stage Door Canteen if you want an entertaining way to eat.

 

Jackson Square

Previously known as Place d’Armes, the Jacksone Square is the main square of the city that’s located at the center of the French Quarter. The place is surrounded by trees, plants and flowers which made the square very refreshing to be at. St. Louis Cathedral is located in this square as well. You can also visit two state museums in this location. There is also an area here where lots of artists tend to hang out and make paintings, along with some shops and restaurants to chill at.

 

Preservation Hall

The preservation hall is an old place indeed. It is very old that some may not think that this is a popular tourist spot when no one’s around. The place is known for its jazz music along with the history of the music genre. The hall still features a lot of classic jazz music made by local artists in New Orleans. But take note that the seats here are quite limited. So be sure to go here early if you want to listen to some quality jazz.

 

Stemboat Nachez

You will never complete your journey in New Orleans if you didn’t get to see Steamboat Nachez. Thius is a paddle steamer that can take you around the Mississippi River. The tour guides here will also educate you even more about the city as you travel through the waters surrounding the beautiful city. This cruise takes around two hours and has complete narration of the sites that you will visit. You can also eat some fine creole cuisine in the cruise as well. You will surely love to see the view of the city at night here as you enjoy dinner with some jazz bands if you wish to go here at evenings.
